Are the colors any good one may ask? Truth to be told - they are. The colors are nice and vibrant. This is especially true if you are watching in the dark. I am sure that there would be people out there not happy with the default settings. For them I must say that they can always use the brightness adjustment wheel to fine tune the 7 inch handheld TV.

It is pretty easy to lock the unit. It looks sturdy and stays stable. At the same time it is lightweight. The audio is great, considering the size of the speakers.

The first thing that I noticed was the screen resolution – far from spectacular. HD channels come in moderately blurred -maybe a little better than a standard Youtube video. The unit that I bought has a noticeable backlight bleeding on the left side going in about 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

Also the antenna attached to the unit can't get the job done. I was only able to pick up 2 channels with the included external antenna (it has a magnetic base by the way). However with the big antenna I have mounted to the ceiling in my garage (and routed outside) I picked up 32 stations.

Another thing that annoys me is the buttons on the TV and remote - they are kind of screwy. What I mean is there's no ON/OFF button or volume buttons on the remote, whereas there's no guide button on the TV yet there is on the remote. Pressing a number like 4 on the remote takes you to 4-0 (analog) you HAVE to press 4-1 for digital which is kind of annoying. No channel recall button.

Conclusion: In conclusion I must say that Axion AXN8701 is not a bad unit. Quite the opposite - It's watchable and it has a lot of handy features. However it leaves a lot to be desired. If a clear, crisp screen is important to you, you may be disappointed with this unit.

If price is your main concern and you're OK with a bit of blurriness, then I'd say go for it. However, If you plan to use it to watch sports, be advised that scores may be hard or impossible to read because of the blurriness and small screen.

The price was right for me, and it serves it's purpose, so I'm a happy camper. Hint - I sometimes use the included AV cable in conjunction with a cheap iPod AV cable I bought at popular online cable store to watch movies from a 5th gen iPod video and it works great. You can do the same and won't regret.
